Abdullah Khan

Patron


Abdullah has been in the Education sector for three decades with almost 16 years as School Principal, CEO and Executive Principal. Since 2011 he has been the Executive Principal and CEO of the Australian Islamic College (K-12) overseeing four campuses with over 3500 students and 400 staff. Under his leadership, the college achieved 100% of the ATAR stream graduates securing University offers and AIC has been amongst the top 40 schools in the state. He has been the President of the Islamic Schools Association of Australia (ISAA) since 2012. In 2016 he was one of the only three Principals in WA who were awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) for his outstanding contributions to the education sector in WA in general and the Australian Islamic College Perth in particular. Recognising his contributions in the integration of Muslim youth in Australia through sports, his photo and bio have been placed on the Wall of Fame in the Department of Sports & Recreation WA office. He sits on the Advisory Groups to the WA Minister for Multicultural Interests as well as the WA Police Commissioner, which meet quarterly, to safeguard the rights of Muslims and the CaLD community in WA.

Dr Mohammad Jahingir

President


DR Mohammad Jehangir has been elected 4th time (Maximum number for any president) as president of the Pakistani Association of WA (PAWA). DR Jehangir is considered a very dynamic person by his community members, Government officials and his professional colleagues. His dedication and passion for community services are second to none. He tries his best to help members of the community from all sectors at the time of need. This may be in the form of family advice, financial help, medical advice, social networking or job search. He took personnel interest and did magnificent efforts to relieve stress from many people during Covid Lockdowns in Perth. Provision of much needed Pakistan Consulate services in Perth via Out Reach Camp , Bush Fire appeal , Fundraising for Dam Construction in Pakistan and establishment of Islamic Centre and community Centre is his most recent unprecedented achievements. He is president of Australian Islamic Care INC (a not for Profit Welfare organisation) that especially focuses on community social work, Religious education and mental and physical health of the Youth. Dr Jehangir has been a Consultant paediatrician and Head of Neonatal Services at SJOG Private Hospital Mt Lawley/ Perth for the last 6 years. He is the director/owner of SMARTPAEDS—a very popular private specialist paediatric service. He favours Pakistani patients at his practice by having NO OUT OF POCKET payment. He has been instrumental in finding jobs for many Pakistani newcomer doctors in WA. DR Jehangir enjoys good family life. He has a passion for Urdu and Islamic literature, Golf, outdoor exercise and fishing. He is motivated for studying the Arabic Language as well. PAWA team feels proud to work with such a perfect President. He started the construction of a Mosque and community centre in Cockburn to initiate Religious teaching and community welfare work.

Ali Mardan Shah

Vice President


A dedicated lawyer, Entrepreneur and Social worker who has successfully managed and established few biggest projects in Western Australia, Currently CEO of AMS International Solutions Pty Ltd as well as actively working and managing Non for Profit organisations like SO change inc, Feeding Australia. Providing food to local homeless along with organising WA Biggest Multicultural events like Basant Festival, Continuously working for the improvement of our community.

Asim Chaudhry

General Secretary


Mr Asim Chaudhry is a finance person and member of multiple known international Accounting bodies. He is an Associate member of Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of United Kingdom (CIMA) and Fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP). He is also Vice Chairman of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (Australian Branch Council). Mr Asim Chaudhry is also running his own ERP/Accounting consulting firm GetMax Consulting Pty Ltd to support the community in the areas of business development/Systems improvement and Taxation. Mr Asim Chaudhry has been a continually active community member since 2012. Mr Chaudhry also contested councillor elections from the City of Gosnells in 2015.

Dr Zulqarnain Gilani

Social Media Manager


Zulqarnain is passionate about the welfare of the community. A research scientist at the Edith Cowan University, Zulqarnain completed his PhD in Computer Science (3D Computer Vision) from the University of Western Australia. Prior to this, he was a senior lecturer at the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad. Zulqarnain is part of many philanthropic projects. He has been associated with the UWA Muslim Students Association for over eight years and is also a member of the Board of Governors of the SignalianZ Alumni Association.
